Twitter bans Trump's account, citing 'risk of further incitement of violence'

Well, it's official- Trump has been banned from Twitter and other social media platforms resulting in Twitter's stock price tumbling as much as 12% on Monday, erasing $5 billion from its market capitalization.

In case you missed it late last week, Twitter banned President Trump's account, citing 'risk of further incitement of violence' on Jan. 8. What led to this? They concluded it was a punishment for what they believe is his role in inciting violence at the U.S. Capitol, robbing him of the megaphone he used to communicate directly with more than 88 million supporters and critics. As you may recall, Trump has been controversial in his use of the platform during his presidency and has been ban threatened before. Nothing has officially pushed Twitter over the edge until this week when he was temporarily banned and then once reinstated, banned permanently.

What are your thoughts? Was Twitter justified in banning Trump? I'd love to know in the comments!
